Online Research Resources
The Becker County Law Library also provides for its patrons a work station consisting of a computer terminal and printer.
With this computer it is possible to access and make use of the Lexis Advance online research service. This service provides
access to current Minnesota statutes, case law, agency, and administrative materials. Access is also available to current
Federal statutes, case law, and administrative materials. Such online legal research services are not usually available to
users without paying a monthly subscription to the provider. But because the Becker County Law Library bears the cost of the
subscription, this service is available to Law Library patrons at no charge. Instructional materials on how to use this
computerized service can be found right at the work station.
Also available to patrons on the Library's computer is access to legal resources available to the general public on the
internet. These resources include legal information sites of all kinds, including those providing self-help information and
those providing "how-to" videos. Access to these resources are made through hot links or by clicking on icons appearing on the
patron desktop.
